The start of week 2. Think like my dear flatmate, Huiqian, said, seems very sian. Not like bored or what just sian. Ha ha... Think is the holiday blues. After a really good holiday it's time to kick back into the semester mood. 1 week down and 12 more to go before Christmas knocks on the door. Started doing reading tonight after watching the Finale of Big Brother...ha ha! Well, this sem I feel really excited about my units but these few days feels exactly like the Ozzie, Perth weather. Rainy and cold...Haiz... must kick up to gear soon. Now, only in gear 3. Gotta hit 4 and start cruising at 5 soon.

Anyway, yesterday played Captain's Ball with the church's youth. Arrived late and soccer started so decided to play Captain's Ball. Ha ha... anyway, it's a sport I'm much better at than soccer. Had fun. But I must tell you the weather was so good. It's like playing sport in an air-con room but with the open sky and fresh air. Ozzie weather that Singapore will never have. It's just so confortable...ha ha! After the game, you can just lie or sit down on the soft grass of the field. Once again, the ozzie field aren't like its Singapore counterpart. No insects will crawl up your leg, no wet muddy feeling and you won't feel itchy and start scratching yourself all over. Shiok is how you describe it...ha ha! Yesterday night had dinner at Jiyoung place. Waited so long for her Kimchi (She's Korean.. of course). Her kimchi is just fantastic. Spicy enough and we just can't get enough of it...ha ha! Brought some of Karen's sticky date pudding for them to try as well. I tell you, everyone fell in love with it. LOVE AT FIRST BITE...ha ha ha! Think I'm gonna steal the recipe off her. Blessings!

School has started here in Ozzieland and so has winter kicked into full blast. This time, complete with the rain. The weather has been so erractic the past few days. Rain then stops, rain then stops. This is Ozzieland for you. Anyway, this sem gonna be exciting. Doing 2 units that I am actually looking forward too! Digital Studios and Sound. Very hands on units which I am just waiting to get some practical knowledge too! The lecturers are really good too!

Anyway, went into my first class on Monday and thought that what was written in my unit guide was quite amusing. Just let me reference for you. Under "Resources for the unit".

"There are no required textbooks for the unit, though the following texts are in the Murdoch library and are very useful."

Then it continues to say

"The following movies on DVD have extremely helpful bonus tracks"
"There are many more DVDs that have great bonus tracks - watch as many as you can."

Ha ha... So I went down the next day to Blockbuster and got a membership to rent DVDs...ha ha! Anyway, if you all are wondering, it's this unit called Digital Studios where we learn about special effects that is used in film making and stuff.

Got back from church just now. Had our Friday Night Live and brought Joey and Raine down to have a look. Today happened to be Arthur's birthday as well. We planned a surprise for him after church and I must say everything went really well. It's really a convoy of cars that went. He's really happy and I'm glad that it worked out. All of us had a wonderful time.

Well, that's all for now. Have to wake up early tomorrow, like 6.45am early to go to Canning Vale market with some friends to get groceries...ha ha! Well, take it easy guys and gals!

School is starting soon. The semester will begin all over again. The past few days was still quite busy. Well, over the weekend had our church camp down in Busselton. It was quite good getting to know alot more people in church and got a chance to talk to them. But there are still some people which I am still very keen to talk to...ha ha! Well, too many new friends and new faces. But I reckon it be good to know more people don't you think? Think I'm quite a social animal...ha ha! Just like collecting friends and getting to know people. Each and every one of them have their own unique story. Just like opening a treasure chest when you get to know someone new. Who knows, the treasure chest may just give you a surprise or you may find something you have been looking for. Anyway, back from church camp on Sunday night and this week has been doing all the admin stuff like checking up timetables and signing up for tutorials so that I am able to get my preferred slot...ha ha!

This afternoon met up with Weijie for lunch before going to the licensing centre to get our Ozzie driving license done. Thank God we didn't have to wait too long. It was much shorter than we expected...ha ha! Hopefully will get my license soon. Tomorrow will be having the garage sale at the Student Village. Hopefully will get to know some freshies in the process...ha ha! And yeah... thanks Huiqian for calling me all the way from Singapore today...ha ha! A few more days and people will start to fly back to Perth like birds migrating. Then, the new semester will start. Wonder what Winter 2006 will hold. It's exactly 1 year and 2 days since I first stepped in Ozzieland. Hope it'll be a really cool (not too cold...ha ha!), wonderful sem coming up! I'm expecting some really, really present surprises coming up ahead as well. Be well! =)

Finally and sadly, I'm back in Perth. 11 days of non-stop fun, adventure, joy and new experiences on the East Coast of Ozzieland and I enjoyed every single second of it. Now I'm back in Perth and fully understands why Perth is called "THE MOST ISOLATED CITY IN THE WORLD"! After seeing Sydney and Gold Coast, the Darling Harbour, the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge... AHHHH........ I WANNA GO BACK THERE AGAIN!!!! It doesn't help returning back to a flat that is empty...ha ha! It's good and bad lah. Anyway, been resting for the past few days. Re-energising from the trip. Doing laundry and catching up on sleep...ha ha!

But not many days of rest anyway. Today went back to church and re-joined the apprentice program. Joined only in the last week but the first day already getting into doing all the stuff...ha ha! Woke up to a freezing morning and got to church at 8am. Did devotions then rush off to Willeton Senior High to do some gardening before going to Rossmoun (hope spelling is correct) high to scrape windows and painting. Wow... scraping was sure hard work. Think will be having some really good workout for the rest of the week. After that, had a really good lunch. Lunch was good, all our very kind church aunties cooked up a storm. There was chicken curry and Muah Chee. And they taste authentic like those back home. Yum Yum! Afternoon we had a session on Romans and Bible study class before going home.

Gotta thank Amelia, Rachel and Melanie for dinner. Thanks Amelia for your chicken soup, Rachel for your fetuccini (Mee Pok)...ha ha and Mel for your sticky date pudding. It was good. Then went off to watch Superman Returns with a couple of them. Think it was quite a good show for me. Had some classic Superman shots, the story was alright and everyone agrees that Superman is really plastic...ha ha! Anyway, it's an enjoyable 2.5 hour film. Catch it if you can!

Hey you guys.... yeah! It's been a long time since I last updated my blog. Not that I'm lazy or anything, it's just that I've been busy with all my holidays activities...ha ha ha! One of my very good friend from Singapore ca,me to visit so has been showing him around Perth. He's Yan Chang actually. So today, here I am sitting in a cyber cafe (full story up ahead) typing a general entry to keep my fellow loyal visitors updated. From the 22 of June to the 28 of June, Yan Chang came from Singapore to visit both me and Ian. It was very nice of him. So of course we naturally became his tour guide for Perth. Brought him to so many places and maximised his 7 day tour here in Perth.

The day he arrived, we brought him down to Freo to have some of our famous Cicerello's fish and Chips, then went to have some dessert at Cold Rock. A really special Ice Cream aplour where you can add all sorts of different chocolates, sweets and stuff into the ice cream itself.

The next day, brought him to Mathilda's Bay to have an Ozzie outdoor BBQ complete with mushrooms, onions and BBQ sauce and not forgetting the hot dogs and stuff. It was a surprise party for Meisi and Raine too. Ian baked them a cake, boy were they surprised and Ian's cake was real good too! Success again. The night was followed by late night shopping in the city and all of us picked up some good bargain from Harbourtown itself. After that, we sent Amelia to the airport (who went home to Singapore for the winter break) before heading down to Burswood. Showed Yan Chang around the Casino. Didn't played anything but went there for some real cheap supper....ha ha!

Saturday was a full day for us as well. After sending Huiqian to the airport, we immediately left for Swan Valley where we drove round the wine district for some winte tasting and bought some fruits as well as visited the Chocolate factory as well. Then, went to Caversham Wildlife Park for the Ozzie experience. Yeah... got to feed and see the Kangaroos, the Tasmanian Devil, Kookabaru, the Dingos and other Ozzie animals...ha ha! It was fun I must say. Then, we ended our day with the famous Little Caesar's Pizza. The pizza was great and even bought back another one for supper while we watched World Cup.

After Church on Sunday, brought him around Murdoch Uni to have a look before heading down to the Fremantle market to soak into the local scene and also to get some of Perth's local products.

Monday and Tuesday, we took a road trip down South to show him around Perth's Country side. Went down to Margaret River for some serious wine tasting and also for the beautiful scenery of the countryside and the beautiful beaches.

Then, on Tuesday night, I left for the Eastern States. So I was in Sydney for the past few days. Basically from Wednesday morning to Saturday. On Saturday morning, drove for about 12 hours up to Queensland, Gold Coast. Now, I'm in a Cyber Cafe at Surfer's Paradise writing to you guys this entry. Sydney was real fun seeing the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, walking around the city and Darling Harbour. I'm starting to miss it already. Met up with my cousin Angela for dinner at this Pancake place. Sad that we can only meet for a while. So see you back in Singapore in December!

Today, I'm at Gold Coast. Just spent a day in Dreamworld going for all the rides. I tell you, I tried all the most thrilling rides already. Nothing can stop me now. Tomorrow will be going to Sea World. There is still Movie World and Went n Wild to go! So here I come. And all you folks hang in there! I may not be able to blog for the next few days but no worries, will keep you all updated as soon as I can. Be well!
