Friday is cell group day again. Today at cell, after a really good time of fellowshipping, wonderful worship and sharing, a good laugh at playing taboo, we had a special dessert to top it all off. It was Tracy’s birthday was well. Sara baked her a apple cake. NOT apple pie but apple cake. Sara, it is really really nice. Not too sweet and the flavours all blended in very well. A real treat. Tracy seemed shy taking pictures and we had to robe in Geraldine, the ‘photo’ queen , to help get Tracy behind her birthday cake to get a picture of her. Ha ha… think she had a surprise. *Happy Birthday Tracy!*
Then, today Arthur and Geraldine taught us how to eat Tim Tams the Ozzie way. The people back in Singapore, here is like Tim Tam heaven. Many tons of different kinds of Tim Tams and the likes from Arnott’s. Anyway, you guys can try this back home as well. Get a pack of Tim Tam for your local supermarket, a tin of milo and carnation milk. Make first a cup of hot and sweet milo. Make sure the milo is hot but warm enough to drink. Bite off the edges of the Tim Tams at opposite ends, then use the Tim Tam as a straw and suck up the milo through the Tim Tam. IT IS GOOOD!!! The perfect mix of milo and chocolate biscuit. Then, the Tim Tam just melts from inside out, then just pop the whole thing in your mouth and let the chocolate and milo swim around you tongue. Munch it up and swallow well. Really simple but the taste is amazing. So you guys, can gather one evening and have a Tim Tam party, THE OZZIE WAY!
The night’s not done yet. After cell, some of us went down to this place at Northbridge called Famosa. It is a Bubble Tea Café opended by a Taiwanese. There are low tables and cushions as seats. You order your bubble tea, there’s food too, then you can enjoy your drink watching Taiwanese variety show. There are like comics and a cyber café too. I had a Kiwi green tea. Not too bad but Bubble Tea here is quite expensive. A$3 and you have to add A$0.50 for the pearls. So only can indulge occasionally….ha ha! All Asian food in Ozzie is expensive. Go for the steak, lamb chops or Turkey here. They’re cheap. In Ozzie, chicken is the most expensive meat to buy. Turkey is cheaper, can you believe it? The Macdonald’s here, have chicken McNuggets as the most expensive item on the menu. Cheers!
