Wednesday, half way through the study break, and I’m feeling like a new man already….ha ha! Just came back from the Fremantle prison tour. Went down with some of my church people and it was a trip we have wanted to go for sometime. Finally got this chance to go during the break. Didn’t know they actually have this kind of tours. The Fremantle prison itself conducts many different kinds of tours. This one we went is supposedly the more exciting ones. Of course everyone will know walking around in the middle of the night in a half century old prison already gives off shiver down your necks. And you guessed it right, it is called a torchlight tour. Each of us is given a torchlight and being guided through the prison grounds and cells in semi darkness. There is a guide telling us stories as we walked the grounds. The guided tour was somehow an informative one but accompanied along was also some eerie stories about the prison. Good thing that it was a large group and the guide did actually have a sense of humour. The place gives off a bad feeling, I guess every prison will give off bad feelings right. However, some cells were really beautiful as the prisoners were allowed to paint murals on the walls. They were amazingly beautiful actually. And on this trip, they do attempt to scare you. But, I won’t tell you when, where and how. It will spoil the fun for those who haven’t gone on the tour right? So, have a go at it. It is a good tour, lots of interesting stories to hear and stuff to ‘see’….ha ha! The tour ended about 10.30pm, we took some pictures before leaving the place. Like all Asians, the night was still not done yet. We drove down all the way to Concas, this nice little humble Turkish coffee house. They opened till late and like what we said, the majority of the people there having late night suppers are Asians. Ha ha… some things just never change. Yeah, this is like our favourite supper place and we had super hot chili mussels again. With lots of Garlic bread, we gotta pack them back as there were just too much. Jennifer’s parents and auntie were with us as well. Her auntie gave all of us a treat. It was very sweet of her. *Thanks auntie!*
