Hey people, sorry but my blog has been down for the pass few weeks so can’t post any interesting stories till now for all you lovely people to read. But anyway, I’m back with almost full force. Be back in force in a week’s time.
Anyway, today to tell you guys about Perth Royal Show. Before I even came to Perth, my good friend Muck (we call him Marximus) from Arts council already told me about this show. So I waited eagerly for half a year and the day is finally here. Woke up early this morning, met up with my friends and caught a train down to Claremont Showgrounds for the Perth Royal Show. Entry tickets were $18, heard they raised the ticket prices every year.
First step in and I can immediately sense the whole “fun fair” feel. The place is really huge and not like Singapore’s Pasar Malam. There were really lots of stuff and shops to look around. First stop we went to look at the animal shows. We walked and stumbled upon a dog show. They were having some competition then. The dogs there were really huge and beautiful. The girls were all screaming *AHH…. So cute*. All the dogs are really well groomed by their proud owners. Really beautiful animals. Then we went to look at some birds too. The different species of pigeons, chicken and ducks they have are incredible. There’s probably hundreds different kinds of them. Some of them are really weird looking. Some really pretty too, one of the pigeons seems to be wearing a fur coat. It is pure white in colour, like a snow princess. Others look weird, like having their brain on it’s beak….ha ha! There is also a golden rooster, feather all really nice. Besides that, there’s also many other animals like cats, ducks, emus, pigs, rabbits and all kinds of farm animals…ha ha! Saw the little pigs too, really cute. See already also wanna have one pig myself…ha ha! Least better than having dogs right, so many people have dogs already….ha ha!
Then went to take some rides, Fair must have rides one right. Here though is nothing compared to Disneyland but is definitely better than any that is in Singapore. I took a rollercoaster called the Python Loop and went for a Haunted mansion ride that was quite pathetic. Good thing was that it was on half price this morning. They had special discounts from newspapers. So each ride is like only $3. So still can try and have some fun….ha ha! I told my friends I can take any ride as long as they do not go round…ha ha! There were so many rides there, haunted houses alone think have already 3 or 4. They even have the pump jet that drops you at about 10 stories high. Wanted to try that, was a little scared at first but in the end, it was the price I was scared of….ha ha! $7 for a ride that lasts only for 3 seconds…ha ha! There’s better way of spending my Ozzie money.
Walked around and bought this thing called twist fries. They are not exactly curly fries. Is kinda cool actually. They have this machine that they will pass the potatotes through that slices and curls up the potatoes. Then they are fried in cylindrical containers. After that, you’ll get a block of twisted fries…ha ha! Quite nice but oily too.
Walk around the games stall too. Won a big honey bear for my friend, the games here are relatively easy to win a prize. Not like in Singapore where it seems impossible to win like a big teddy or something. Here, their prizes are all big soft toys. And they have a shop FULL of SPONGEBOBS!!! Wow… really dazzling to the eyes when you actually see it. The games are quite easy to play but you need luck or lots of skill…ha ha! But quite ok also lah. You walk around and you see everywhere people carry huge teddy bears, sharks or Kermit frogs…ha ha!
AS night dawns, the whole Show lighted up. Went back to the rides area and you feel like you’re in a fairytale land as there are like rainbow coloured lights everywhere. Night was really cool. There’s also a big field there where the have like car and motorbike shows, with people doing stunts. There’s also a monster truck show where the monster truck will drive over a row of cars and you see them being crashed up. In the end, there were the fireworks. It is really cool as the fireworks are really near to you. It lasted for about 10 to 15 minutes… really long. They came with many different kinds of designs too. That was the high point and conclusion of the show. Spent about 10 hours there before heading back home. Before I went back, bought a Spongebob Showbag as well as a Spongebob hammer too…ha ha! They say come show must never go back empty handed. Hands must carry things…ha ha!
On the way back on the train, you can see everyone on the train carry some big softtoy and my friends had these huge furry hats on…ha ha! One of my friend even had a larger than life size Bart Simpson…ha ha! I had to help her carry it…ha ha! Was a really fun day. Next year MUST go back again. But first, save money and practice all the games I see at the games stall first…ha ha! Gonna get for myself one of those big soft toys…ha ha!
And oh, for those Chocolate lovers out there, there was a chocolate fountain there too serving free chocolate coated bananas! SUGOI! Have a good night!
